Making The Most Of Summer

Hello lovelies!
As I sit typing my posts up it's quite easy to conclude we're approaching Autumn; the skies are darkening, my fur blanket is close by and The Addams Family live is regularly being advertised. If you're like me Autumn is your favourite time of year, you're a big kid and Halloween is still your favourite night ever! News flash though-we're not even half way through Summer!
The thing is, as much as I love the falling leaves, the woollen jumpers and extra pale skin, I don't want it to be Autumn yet because Autumn leads to Winter, Halloween leads to Christmas and then what? It starts again and that's life?

Yesterday I used the pumpkin emoji for the first time this year and that's how I came up with this post idea. I don't want that pumpkin in my frequently used emojis for another two and a half months! I want to make the most of Summer and here are some ways how to!

As much as I've fallen in love with black clothing and the sophisticated classy feeling it gives me, at the moment I'm feeling the boho-chic style. Changing my style a little always helps me adjust to a season. I love wearing my turquoise/baby pink tie tops, it gives the Summer sensation and I can dream of wearing them on a silken sandy beach!

To set my mood completely I team my Summer style with a pair of sunglasses and light but noticeable make-up. My beauty routine definitely changes in the Summer-I refuse to wear plum lipstick or dark smokey eyes. July is for unicorn/mermaid beauty and my go-to shades this year are definitely pink and peach, from lipstick to eyeshadow and blushes, these sunset colours just scream Summer time!

Now your outfit and make-up is rounded off I suggest you head for cocktails! As a Summer baby, one of my birthday nights always entails a cheeky cocktail. Although they can (and should) be drank all year round, there's just something about them that puts me in a happy summery mood! I believe it could be blowing a thunderstorm out, however if you're sipping your Sex On The Beach you can still believe it's mid-July.

My next top is follow traditions, Christmas wouldn't feel like Christmas if you didn't follow traditions, so therefore Summer is the same! Although I don't have particularly interesting traditions, some of mine are my Dad always takes a few weeks off work where him, my Mum and I get to spend a little more time together, even if it's simply nipping to the supermarket or taking our Marley for a walk.

Some of these traditions could be taking cute days out. Even if we may grumble about the British weather, there are some pretty places to visit all over the country and I think the Summer is the perfect season to explore-regardless of the weather. If you read my post about my trip to Chester Zoo, this is definitely a perfect Summers day trip! I've also got my eye on heading to parts of Wales, hopefully an outing for August.

Although my final tip is to prolong the season of Summer, what I mean is don't cut it short. As soon as September comes many people class it as Autumn, when in fact it lasts another three weeks; that's near enough a whole month, so enjoy it! Continue taking part of my tips from above, make memories of the entire three months of Summer we do get, let the season ride out so when your favourite season of the year arrives, you savour it!

What's your favourite way of making the most of summer?

I just love the idea of creating summertime traditions! It gives you something to look forward to all year round, rather than just at the holidays. And YES to unicorn/mermaid makeup in the summertime!
