Autumn Beauty Changes

Hello lovelies!
With Autumn arriving late last week I thought it would be the perfect time to speak about updating your beauty for the season ahead and how I'm planning to alter my make-up. Autumn has got to be my favourite season involving beauty, with the colourful smokey eyes and the darker bold lip. If you're struggling with ideas to revamp your make-up, this is the post for you!
I'm just going to zoom in and focus on the two main beauty features, which are the eyes and lips. This is because I don't alter my face make-up seasonally, if I'm comfortable with a foundation look I'll tend to wear it throughout the year. I also use to do this with my eyeshadow too, however this year I'm excited to try and incorporate new shades into my look!

So I've recently purchased the Mermaid Forever palette by Make-Up Revolution, there will be a full review coming soon. I wanted this as I wanted to venture out and sample some brighter colours especially for these months coming and the theme of this palette is spot on for Autumn with gorgeous green and orange colours along with deeper blues and purples.

First and foremost is the day wear, I like to keep my eyes simple and classic during the light hours which is were the twiggy browns and pastelly nude colours will come in handy. The majority of my eye pallets are nude so it wouldn't have been too much trouble making this look, I'm planning to play around with the more natural skin colours and create a purer look that holds a dusky feel to them. As a highlighter you could use the golds and creams instead of white eyeshadow, this will add some warmth into the look.

To finish off I apply a natural black mascara to both top and bottom lashes then I may either do black eyeliner just on the top lid with a small wing or I could make it a little more special and line my entire eye but leave the wing off, still keeping it simple. Brown liner could be an option too, which fits into the theme and also a more subtle colour to black.

I don't tend to make much effort in the day with my brows, if I do anything I slightly fill them in with a brown that matches my hair colouring but keep the natural shaping. As the last touch, in a pale shade place some eyeshadow underneath your bottom lashes, to keep in place your eyeliner.
During the night is were you can get stuck into seasonal beauty and see it's full effects! I'm aiming to do some leaf inspired looks with the green and orange shadows, which would be drama filled and more for the nights ahead. This will take a lot of blending techniques and practice to smooth out any harsh lines but if done correctly it can look truly stunning. Same as daytime I hope to highlight with the cream and gold simmer, however for the night I'm going to highlight the corner of my eye too, which will create an eye catching sparkle feel.

I will also go wilder with my mascara and liner too, coating my lashes a few times with a more striking mascara which will make them appear thicker and longer too. I can then draw my entire eye with a sinful black liner pencil and also add wings, slightly longer than my daytime appearance.

For my brows I shall shade them deeper and more shapely, still in a shade close to my own colour. This makes them still look natural enough however just more defined and detailed. Underneath my bottom lashes I shade it in either the colours I used on the top or if I'm not feeling that 'out there' I may use a deep brown which will still create the smoky feeling!

As for my lips, in the Autumn daytime I feel the perfect colour would be a soft orange. Orange is a cheeky playful colour that matches in with the Autumn decor. As you can get lots of different shades of orange there would be something suitable for anyone and any mood you were in. I plan to wear a cheerful vivid shade which will bring out all the different colours of my make-up. To add a little more depth I outline my lips with a similar yet slightly darker shade lip pencil which adds a contour affect to the lip.

Orange lipstick would go with any type of eye make-up I feel, it would balance out a neutral look by bringing your lips to be the main feature, however if you had slightly heavier shadow round your eyes it would really finish the look off and make it pop!

As for night time it has got to be a plum or cranberry purple colour, it's what Autumn is all about. I love the darker shades this time of year, I feel it's gives the vampy look and it's definitely the season for that! I always feel a lot more daring when I have a sinful dark lipstick on and love how it alters my whole look. I often give my lips more depth when I wear this lipstick by colouring my lips in first with a plum pencil liner too.

Like orange, you could pull off plum lipstick with both light or darker eyeshadow. Personally I love going full out and wearing both however I understand some may find that fashion a little too much and may choose one or the other which looks just as gorgeous!

This is just how I alter my make-up for Autumn, I hope it gave you a few hints and tips!

How do you change your beauty for the darker season?
