Too Faced 'Born This Way' Foundation - Review

Hello my lovelies
When my foundation ran out the other month I was so excited, I could try a new make-up! Being beauty obsessed, when you purchase a new beauty you get a thrill, it's exciting and you can't wait to find the new product you want. There was one brand I'd heard of more and more since becoming a blogger and that was Too Faced, I've read countless reviews, from their yummy food inspired eye shadow palettes to their feminine cute blushes. I'd been wanting to buy a product from them for a while but I couldn't justify it.. until now.
I placed my order on the 15th and nine days later it arrived, I guess this is a touch long however Too Faced is an American company so it did have to be shipped over here which does take a while.  When it arrived I was eager to see the packaging, I've read a few reviews and seen the packaging, luckily it did not disappoint! When I open the brown cardboard box, it was full of popper like confetti in a sweet bubble gum pink which I found added to the personal feeling. It was like a little hunt routing round to discover my products.

I ordered Too Faced Born This Way foundation in the shade Snow and another product that I will review at a later date. Before you get to see the product, it's packed in a baby pink box which fits in with the feminine theme of the rest of the packaging and I found was extremely cute. The reason I ordered Born This Way is as it's a liquid foundation with a pump which is my preferred styling. The bottle itself is what I call dainty and perfect for popping in a make-up bag; being a mixture of black and gold I think it has a classy feel to it and would look glamorous on a make-up dresser. The bottom of the bottle has a misty look as it's obscure glass which is a refreshing change from most plain foundation bottles.

Something I noted straight away was the wide spectrum of colours that would suit any coloured skin. With eighteen different shades, Snow to Mahogany, I feel Too Faced can cater to a large audience all over the world. Snow is the lightest shade Too Faced have, so obviously I went for that colour in hopes I may finally find a make-up that wouldn't be too dark on my skin. The description given was 'very fair with neutral to pink undertones' which I thought would suit my complexion well. I would say it's pretty much the same colour as Porcelain from other brands, even though in this range porcelain was the third lightest; so I wouldn't say it was extremely light which if you like the 'warm pale' look would suit you. For me my skin is still paler than this so I didn't feel it was that pale on me, though it is joint the lightest shade I've found so far.
Obviously not blended correctly;)
I found with Born This Way a little bit went a very long way, so after pumping the bottle on to my hand even if you only pressed for one pump you would still have excess left over after applying to your face. Sometimes I feel this is a waste of product so you could always use the left over as concealer or to touch up your blemishes. After applied the coverage is medium to full, which is claimed on the bottle too. I really thought a lot of the finish look of the make-up as it was neither matte nor dewy and seen as I don't have a preference this was a fitting look.

Too Faced claim that this is an undetectable foundation, which I don't agree with though if it was I wouldn't be such a fan as when I wear make-up I don't want it to be undetected and unnoticeable. Even when I'm wearing a pale foundation I like to have make-up that is going to catch attention and stand out, which this foundation does! Even after a few hours of wear I still feel my make-up is noticed and is firmly on my skin which is what I strive for in a foundation. So even though I wouldn't call this criticism as I love the way it is detected on my skin.

After a few uses of this make-up, I love it. It's more of a special wear, so I wouldn't use it in the day for nipping the shops or to work as I like having it as my 'night time' make-up as it gives me a more glamorous feel. If you did want it as a day wear it would be okay for that too as it's a super light foundation! For my first Too Faced buy I'm very happy and unlike other brands I was not disappointed! For £32.00 from Too Faced or £29.00 from Debenhams which could be seen as overpriced, I couldn't fault this foundation and I definitely recommend this to anyone.

Have you tried Born This Way? What do you think?
